17,000 exhibits, modern installations and innovative presentation media provide a good overview of Leoben’s 1100 year old history.
The Leoben City Museum was founded in 1883 and opened as Regional Museum for the Political District of Leoben in 1887. Over the years the local heritage museum has developed into an important cultural center for the city and district of Leoben. Since 2004 the Kunsthalle Leoben and the MuseumsCenter Leoben have been presenting diverse and interesting exhibitions on the region’s history, art and culture.
