Forchtenstein Castle is more than just an imposing castle: With over 20,000 exhibits the Forchenstein Castle Museum ranks among Central Europe’s largest private museums. The Painting Gallery boasts monumental war paintings. The historic hunting tools and trophies, and precious pieces of booty from the Turkish wars are also very impressive. The Arsenal accommodates, among other things, the equipment of an entire regiment from the 17th century.

The over 300-year old Arts and Wonder Chamber has been opened to the public in 1998 and features some 500 interesting objects: the Silver Room with the Augsburg silver table, jewelry, turned ivory art, silver miniatures, watches and exotica from foreign countries.
